What's the minimum jackpot?

NZ$4M — when no Division 1 winner is found, the prize rolls into the next draw. The largest historical jackpot for Powerball was NZ$55M (Nov 2025, Must Be Won).

How are the prize divisions calculated?

Each division pays a share of the prize pool based on the number of entries matching that tier. With more winners in a division the per-winner amount drops; with fewer winners it goes up. Division 1 is reserved for entries matching every main number plus the Powerball.

About Powerball

NZ Powerball is drawn Wednesday and Saturday, piggybacking on the main Lotto draw. Players use the same six main numbers from 1 to 40 plus the Bonus Ball, with one additional Powerball selected from 1 to 10. Seven prize divisions reward winning combinations.
